Ten-day hometown festival takes top spot in WestJet’s online contest

CALGARY, Alberta. January 20, 2012. WestJet today announced that the Calgary Stampede has been voted Canada’s favourite festival, according to the airline’s online contest.

On our drive to the Abbotsford International Airshow we celebrated as the West Coast odometer ticked over 13,000km. And boy are the stories piling up! We've checked off all the classic roadtrip experiences: we've been bogged in a parking lot in Winnipeg, had a flat tire en route to Saskatoon and been pictured with the giant Coke can in Portage-la-Prarie....

So we decided no road trip blog would be complete without a story or two about what happens on the road between events, so this segment will take you though our travels into Charlottetown PEI where we made a quick stop at the Stanhope Equestrian Challenge.
