Harvey Community Days 2011
Dates: August 11, 2011 - August 14, 2011
Website: http://www.village.harvey-station.nb.ca/Upcoming_Events.html
Set in the picturesque community of Harvey Station, NB, Harvey Community Days, in its 65th year, offers a great country adventure for all ages.
Events kick of Thursday morning at Harvey High School, with an Olympics featuring competition for children ages 8-16. The day continues with a bingo in the evening.
Friday brings more entertainment with the Miss Harvey pageant Friday evening, followed by a teen dance, and an outdoor concert featuring two of Harvey's most talented musicians, Carson Renh and Derek Simon, in a relaxed atmosphere.
Saturday, our biggest day of all, starts atsunrise with an early bird breakfast. Once your bellies are full, the parade that winds through our tiny community is something not to miss. After that, head up onto the fair grounds where there's so much to see and do--a carnival, canteens, horse haul, antique engine display, craft show, dunk tank and ice sundae stand--to name a few.
As the day continues there's an opportunity to take in a historical lecture and to sit down for a traditional baked bean supper. The evening ends of with a Don Messer Barn Dance, and an adult dance.
Sunday wraps up our event with an ecummenical service lakeside at Harvey Lake.
Again, opportunities for all, so be sure to drop by for a great time, and help our community support nukerous local organization and initiatives!

I remember driving up from Moncton when I was a little girl to come to Harvey Community Days and stay at the lake. I looked forward to it every year! Then we moved there and it became an even bigger part of my life. I love seeing the town come together to celebrate our community. It's a great way to see some old friends and experience some good ol' Harvey Hospitality.

Great Way to see everyone from the community in one weekend, the kids love it ! plus it doesn't break the bank to go to, like some festivals in other cities do.

Some of my favourite times have been spent at the Harvey Community Days. It is a weekend to look forward to every summer. You know that you will have tons of fun, and catch up with good friends. Harvey Community Days brings people together!

Harvey Community Days has been the best weekend of my summer since I was a little girl. Memories of carnival games, rides, cotton candy and sunny days from when I was younger are now replaced with memories of working hard to keep this festival going with a great committeee for our small community and local organizations!

I just love the Harv and events like this remind me why! Our family looks forward every year to gathering with our neighbours in "our spot" to watch the parade and then enjoying the day. It's fun to catch up with people you haven't seen in days or even years! The atmosphere and energy surrounding the people and events has 'tight-knit' 'friendly' and 'welcoming' community written all over it. Can't wait for this year!
